Building Moisturizer Habits
Your skin is your fortress. It protects you from diseases and infection. If your skin becomes too dry, it can develop tiny cracks that let in germs. No matter how busy you become, or even if you dislike lotion, it is important to keep your skin moisturized. (For people who dislike lotion, you can apply it to the backs of your hands, not necessarily the palms.)
A good time to moisturize is right after you wash your hands. This helps trap the moisture in your skin. Keep lotion available next to your soap wherever people wash their hands.
Bedtime is another opportunity to replenish your skin. If you keep a tube or bottle of lotion at your bedside, it is easy to reach many areas that are not as convenient during the day. Don’t forget those ashy heels!
The car is a great place to keep both sanitizer and lotion. Any time you go to a store, gas station, or want to eat on the run, you can clean then moisturize.
If you have a bag or desk for work/school, store both sanitizer and lotion there as well. While hand washing is much better than sanitizer, sometimes it just isn’t realistic.
If you are planning to be out for a chunk of a day at a fair, concert, window shopping or any sort of venue, sanitizer and lotion will be indispensable protection to pack in your day bag.
